While the true meaning of Christmas is often lost among the festivities, you’d expect a government tree to bear some relevance to the occasion. But no ornament can be seen with the word ‘Christmas’, ‘Jesus’, his picture or a nativity scene on the 63ft Sierra White Fir outside the U.S. Capitol. However what is easy for people to view standing near the tree's base in Washington D.C. is an ornament with the phrase: ‘I love President Obama’.

Exodus 20:4

King James Version (KJV)

4"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." ~ God

We hear Christians say all the time, "That was the Old Testament." In other words before they figured out that they could make a quick buck or three from the sale of graven images!!!

Merry Christmas...

Christians don't bow down to nor worship the Nativity Scene.

"Some people seem to lose their grip around the holidays."

I was watching a documentary about religions the other day and one of the biblical scholars said that the Bible should have a warning similar to what we put on cigarette packages.

"Contents may be hazardous to your health"

He was absolutely correct. Why do religious zealots make up stuff just so they can get angry - they're just making fools of themselves and raising their blood pressure in the process.

Well said Susan. It may be because their subconscious doesn't believe. But it's the conscious we have to worry about.
