Christopher Hitchens, the author, essayist and polemicist who waged verbal and occasionally physical battles on behalf of causes left and right, died last night after a long battle with cancer. He was 62.
The outspoken atheist, who backed the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, had been undergoing chemotherapy at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, Texas, after being diagnosed with oesophageal cancer last year.Graydon Carter, editor of Vanity Fair, where Mr Hitchens was a contributing editor, paid tribute on the magazine's website.
'Christopher Hitchens was a wit, a charmer and a troublemaker, and to those who knew him well, he was a gift from, dare I say, God,' he wrote.

Sad day.
I'll guess Christopher would say, "Emotions dealt with, life goes on, life moves on, enjoy what is left...Or become like the religious community.
Rest in Peace.......

There is no better way for a non-believer to prove their sincerity than on the deathbed. Hitchens asked for no bible or member of the clergy at his side as life left his body. His noble battle against superstition and religion’s frauds will always be remembered.
